The first high altitude excursion of the Monte Rosa region took place in 1778 during the search for the fabulous treasure of the “Lost Valley”. Today, the mountainous region with its multiple peaks over 4000m is a popular destination for all enthusiasts of mountaineering, climbing, hiking and winter sports.
The Vincentpyramid (4215m) – this summit was named in honor of the first person to climb it, Johann Nikolaus Vincent. It is located on the eastern part of the Lys Glacier and is a popular day trip. The climb takes us via the Lys Glacier and via the north flank directly to the summit. A magnificent and technically simple excursion on one of the four-thousanders of Monte Rosa.

Punta Giordani (4046 m) – the lowest four-thousanders of Monte Rosa and the fastest summit to reach. Giordani Point with its summit stature was named after the first person to climb it, Pietro Giordani. The ideal summit for his first ascent of a four-thousanders. The climb takes us directly to Pointe Indren (train station) via the south-west flank. A beautiful and technically simple day trip to one of the four-thousanders of Monte Rosa.
The ascent of the Breithorn and its 4165 m requires at the price of a reasonable acclimatization at best an average condition and is among the most affluent four-thousanders. In fact, the ideal mountain for beginners and families. The panorama of the four-thousanders of Valais, the Matterhorn, the Weisshorn, the Dom … will leave you with an enchanted face.

Punta Giordani (4046 m) and Cresta del Soldato (Soldier’s Ridge) both offer the ingredients for a fantastic rock excursion. We will continue on the SE crest and climb the Vincentpyramid (4,215 m).
